"Visited Osaka Ohsho After a Long Time!"
Osaka Ohsho doesn’t have a location near my home, so I rarely get the chance to visit.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I commuted to Tokyo daily, and there was a branch along my route, so I used to stop by regularly. However, after the pandemic, I completely stopped going. On the other hand, there are some places I started visiting more often post-pandemic, making me realize how much my lifestyle has changed.
The other day, while out for an errand, I remembered that there was an Osaka Ohsho nearby. Thinking, "It's been a while, so why not?", I decided to stop by. After all, if I don’t take the opportunity now, years might pass without me visiting again!
"Struggling to Decide What to Eat...!"
I didn’t have a specific craving for anything in particular, so I took my time looking through the menu, trying to decide what to order after such a long time.
To be honest, I couldn't help but feel that the prices at Osaka Ohsho had gone up… but that’s the case with almost every restaurant these days, so it’s unavoidable.
Since I was quite hungry that day and in the mood for a hearty meal, I decided to go with the "Gyoza & Fried Rice Set" (1,040 yen including tax)!
"My Honest Thoughts After Trying It!"
And here it is!
I feel like I might have had this set a long time ago, but to be honest, I had completely forgotten about it (lol). The price is just over 1,000 yen, but considering what you get, I don’t think it’s overpriced at all.
Fried Rice
First of all, the fried rice had great seasoning and a satisfying portion! However, personally, I would have preferred it to be a bit more fluffy and less sticky.
Gyoza
It had been a while since I last had their gyoza, but they were just as delicious as ever—consistently great! At 290 yen for six pieces, they offer excellent value for money.
I don’t drink alcohol, but I could easily imagine how perfectly these would pair with a cold beer!
Karaage (Fried Chicken)
And the most memorable dish this time was the karaage (fried chicken)!
I couldn't even remember the last time I had it, but the seasoning was absolutely perfect! The size and juiciness were spot on, too. I found myself thinking, "Was Osaka Ohsho's karaage always this good?!" as I eagerly devoured it (lol).
Next time, I definitely want to try their karaage-focused menu. It’s amazing how even at a restaurant I’ve been visiting for years, I can still make new discoveries!
"I Wonder When I'll Get to Go Again?"
I’m not sure when I’ll be able to go again, but I’ll definitely make time to visit Osaka Ohsho for another meal!
