I recently visited "Niku no Yamagyu," a specialty restaurant known for freshly cut, charcoal-grilled beef, after seeing their announcement on official X. The refreshing taste of lemon and scallions enhances the beef's flavor, while mixing in the spicy green chili miso turns it into a meal that makes you crave even more rice.
Comparing it with the Yoshinoya Beef Tongue Meal (¥1,207 tax included, 4 slices) I had before, Yoshinoya might win in terms of cost performance as a set meal with thicker meat, side dishes, and miso soup. However, Yamagyu's main appeal lies in its "unique charcoal-grilled smokiness" and the "satisfying number of slices."
Rather than saying one is better than the other, both are wonderful options offering unique strengths for enjoying authentic beef tongue easily. Being able to enjoy such genuine flavor so easily right in Tokyo is truly something to be grateful for.
