A taste review of Nikuno-Yama-Gyu's cheapest menu item: the "Charcoal-Grilled Pork Bowl"! Excellent value at just 590 yen.

The other day, I tried the cheapest rice bowl at Nikuno-Yama-Gyu, so I’d like to share my impressions in this blog post.

This time, I had the "Charcoal-Grilled Pork Bowl."
It's seasoned with miso sauce and carefully grilled over charcoal, yet it's very reasonably priced at just 590 yen.

At this restaurant, they hold a "Nikuno-Yama-Gyu Meat Festival" on the 2nd, 9th, and 29th of every month—an event similar to the "Meat Day" promotions at other places. On those days, you can enjoy the "Grilled Beef Kalbi Bowl" for just one coin (500 yen), which is a great deal.
However, on the regular menu, the pork bowl I’m introducing today seems to be the most affordable option.

Additionally, for every 500 yen spent, you receive a "Niku fuda." You can use one token to get a free green onion soup, so I ordered that together this time.
And that soup is incredibly delicious, too.

And here’s what was served.
At first glance, it looks almost identical to the usual "Grilled Beef Kalbi Bowl"—the only noticeable difference is whether it's beef or pork.
The smoky aroma from the charcoal grilling is incredibly appetizing, and considering this presentation comes at just 590 yen, the value for money is outstanding.
Even though I used a Niku fuda from my previous visit, getting a soup included without any extra charge made it feel like an even better deal.

The pork had a rich miso flavor and paired perfectly with the rice.
You can really taste the care taken in grilling each slice over charcoal, giving it a deep and satisfying flavor.
Although there's a price difference compared to the kalbi bowl, I honestly didn’t feel much of a difference in overall satisfaction.
If you're someone who values cost performance, I highly recommend trying this dish at least once.
I even found myself thinking, “Is it really okay for this to be just 590 yen?”
I truly hope this price continues for a long time… and to support that, I’ll definitely be going back.

As for the soup—it was, once again, absolutely excellent.
It had a deep, savory flavor and complemented the pork bowl perfectly.
I don’t like to compare too much, but honestly, it’s on a whole different level compared to the miso soup from typical beef bowl chains.
I definitely recommend trying the soup alongside the meal.

So, to sum it up, the "Charcoal-Grilled Pork Bowl," the cheapest item on the menu, was nothing short of amazing.
If you’re curious, I highly recommend giving it a try. It’s a must-try!
